IFIB Matchmaking

The Enterprise Europe Network partner Innovhub SSI offers the possibility to register to the matchmaking website.

Sessions of pre-arranged face-to-face bilateral meetings (B2B) between Start-ups, Companies, Universities, public and private Research Centres and International investors  in the field of industrial biotechnology and bioeconomy will take place during the IFIB Conference. Participants will come from Europe and beyond to find potential partners for collaborations, business development, licensing agreements, joint ventures, research projects, exchange of experiences and partnership opportunities.

International investors (such as venture capital firms, multinational corporations, accelerators, and governmental representatives) will take part in the matchmaking sessions with the specific aim of identifying promising biotech start-ups to support and invest in.

The matchmaking event is free of charge; however, access is reserved to conference attendees who have completed their registration and payment.

IFIB 2025

The 15th edition of IFIB was held on September 25-26, 2025 at the Cavallerizza Reale in Turin. Recognized as a key European meeting point for the circular bioeconomy and industrial biotechnology, the event gathered over 200 participants and more than 50 speakers.

Key themes included bio-based chemistry, industrial biotechnologies, sustainable agri-food value chains, next-generation bioenergy and biofuels, as well as policies to address current challenges such as new research infrastructures, the valorization of organic waste, and innovation-driven strategies.

B2B matchmaking sessions were highly successful, enabling hundreds of meetings and fostering new collaborations across Europe and beyond.

IFIB 2024

Cluster SPRING and Innovhub-SSI organised the 14th edition of IFIB - International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, aimed at strengthening the bioeconomy network in the Euro-Mediterranean area and to promote partnerships.

The topic of the Forum is circular bioeconomy, with particular attention to industrial biotechnology as Key Enabling Technology. 2024 edition had a specific focus on biotech solutions applied in the agrofood sectors. The Italian food valley became the world center of gravity of bioeconomy.

IFIB 2023

Florence was the capital of the circular bioeconomy from 27 to 29 September 2023.

With over 250 delegates from around 25 countries, the forum once again proved to be a leading global event, thanks in part to the collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency.

Business and policy leaders shared insights on strengthening biobased value chains to foster smarter, sustainable production, job creation, and economic growth. The program featured engaging presentations, thematic sessions, and round tables on Fashion and Textiles, Value Chains, Biocities and Bioregions, and Measuring the Bioeconomy.
